The Community Service Society is one of seven participating organizations in the annual New York Times Neediest Cases campaign. The campaign, which dates back to December 1912, appeals to the public for support of the city’s poor every year between November and February. Donations received by The New York Times are then distributed to the seven participating organizations. The campaign features stories in The Times about the challenges facing the city’s poor and are based upon the work of the seven affiliated organizations. We are proud to offer the stories concerning how the Community Service Society has worked to assist those in need in our city.
